FAQs

  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REGISTER?
There is a sliding scale of fees for different competitions and player ages. Most of our social programs are free of charge, except those where the club incurs cost (e.g. venue hire). We are a not-for-profit organisation, so our aim is not to make profit, but to ensure that we can continue to run all our programs and pay the bills. Coaches and team managers’ registration is free of charge. More details can be found in the player handbook.
  • WHAT ARE MY OBLIGATIONS AS A PARENT OF A JUNIOR PLAYER?
Our club is 100% volunteer-run. This means that parents, carers or other family members are expected to contribute to the efficient running of training and match days. While we encourage our members to contribute to the club in different ways (committee, coach, team manager, other volunteer roles), the minimum expectations are that you perform the duties required of you and organised by your child’s coach/team manager, namely: canteen duty, assistant referee, oranges, set up and pack up and ground marshal. These jobs are shared among the parents/carers for each team—many hands make light work! Please refer to the player handbook for more.
  • WHAT ARE THE CLUB VALUES?
CGFC fosters a respectful and responsible culture and offers a safe, inclusive and accountable place for all its members. CGFC encourages the broadest possible community and family participation and embraces all who wish to be involved in the beautiful game. CGFC values developmental aims and principles over competitive influences in relation to coaching and planning policies.
  • IN WHAT AGE GROUP WILL MY CHILD PLAY?
At CGFC, your child’s date of birth determines in which age group they will play. If you are unsure, contact the relevant coordinators, listed at the end of the player handbook. • SMALL-SIDED – aged 5-9 at 31 December this year • U10s – aged 10 at 31 December this year • U12s – aged 10-11 at 31 December this year • U14s – aged 13-14 at 31 December this year • U16s – aged 15-16 at 31 December this year • U18s / Youth – aged 17-18 at 31 December this year
  • WHERE CAN I FIND THE SEASON FIXTURES?
All season fixtures can be found on the Gameday website here
  • DOES MY CHILD/DO I NEED TO REGISTER TO PLAY?
Yes. Your child/you cannot play if you are not registered. All coaches and team managers must also register. More details provided in the player handbook.
